Hi there .. Glass Blocks are going to rule this year ive decided … we are hoping on seeing the back of this ere recession and hope that people will restart renovating if there not relocating .. The best way to add light to any rooms now is to add a glass block wall to the surrounding areas or walls.. Green is the colour this year too.. not for glass blocks or glass bricks but for conservation .. Adding more natural light to rooms means saving on Co2 emmissions due to not having light bulbs around .. glass blocks are IDEAL for this . you can add fire blocks to a room as well if you need more of a protective wall building in a loft area or stairway. . . . Glass Blocks and Glass Bricks still come in tons of colours and designs .. Glass Blocks come in grey, bronze, blue, green,turquoise, dark blue and rose, these are all very pastille colours but we can get Glass Blocks in bolder colours too now .. keep an eye on th website for the new colours .. including red, Black, orange and purple… really nice Glass blocks and really nice colours .. We are now entering our 9th year as a Glass Block business and having come from a large showroom down to internet only its been quite a successful journey . next month ill put up some pics of the original Glass Block shop ..  its was new , innovative and original. No1 else was doing anything like it for domestic customers..

 August is here already .. WHERE HAS THE GLASS BLOCK YEAR GONE .. We only have 1 more bank holiday this year which means  1 more day of NON DIYERS doing there best to make glass block walls up…. Take care when building these things please ,, we are going to start selling plasters soon on the site i think for any Glass Brick Mis haps that you may have ,.

June July & so far Glass Block August have all been pretty good, the governmet are saying the recession is nealry over which means the building companies are going to start re building the houses and construction work will start again ..  This is good for the commercail side of the Glass Block world .. We sell alot of Glass Blocks and Glass Bricks using the Rods N Mortar method of building to commercail sites .. Its by far the best method to use externally and with everyone now trying toget as much natural light as possible Glass Blocks and Glass bricks are the ideal solution .

 We have taken on a new company this last few months for Glass Blocks too, they can do sizes ranges from 115*115*80mm thru to 300*300*100mm .. We can now get all the corner Glass Blocks in coloured flemish too now. Half Glass Blocks , end Glass Blocks and Double end glass blocks .. These are all new this last few months and it keeps us bang up to date with all the other Glass Block and Glass Brick competitors …  Keep checking the site for any new products we have if your intersted .

Hi, Its been a while but we are till here doing what we do best … We let the blog site go a liitle due to lack of staff to manage it .. We have let go some staff to help keep the business steramlined, These were only part time staff who came in really to help us out when we were busy but we have changed our way of sending Glass Block Brochures out now and that has helped drastically take away lots of time in a day having to write Glass Block envelopes out and post them too.. You can now order and download Glass Block brochures straight to your PC or lap top… all in beatiful FULL colour.. If you still need a Glass Brick brochure the old fashioned way we can send them out we just need your contact details.

 Anyhoo.. back to Glass Blocks … after the recession , , , i spose we are still in it a little,,, we have noticed a decline in phone calls but not in sales which is good, this again takes time away from us on non productive phone calls .. we dont see it like that here at The Glass Block Shop as all Glass Block calls are productive in a way and most i suppose do lead to Glass Brick Sales…

 We are still doing all the fitting methods for the blocks too… The Rods & Mortar method … EASIFIX method and the dry fix FRAMELIGHT system.. All still as popular as ever …

Glass Blocks and Glass bricks are featuring more and more in NEW BUILD or REFURBISHMENTS due to there natural light properties… They let loads of natural light thru allowing you to illuminate rooms that have little or no natural light .. Alot of people say BORROWED LIGHT .. its the same idea .. you simply BORROW light from one room for another .. ONLINE SALES are still going good also .. people like to know they order on a safe website and have there stuff delivered straight to the door.

Welcome back to the world of Glass Blocks. July was good for us here,,,, again ,, i seem to write that at the beginning of EVERY month. I sit here sometimes and wait for it all to crash around my head. I have spent 6 years growing the Glass Block Shop business and it runs very well and continues to get bigger. This only is good for me AND the Glass block world.. We seem to be taking less phone calls at the minute but have more sales per call in that we take, i think people are either wanting Glass Blocks or not these days. People used to look around for new ideas and call us just to see what they were , nowadays tho its genuine enquiries nearly every time. Time management i thinkits called. Its also to do with us streamilining our adwords on GOOGLE, we have taken out / off alot off keywords that led to our site when they simply didnt need to. this helps keep costs down too.

We have this month in Glass Block land sold to over 56 different people, and had 7 re-orders from companies. We finished off with putting all the orders from 26th of the month onto next month as we couldnt cope with the end of month rush that happened and staff being off. it only left me in the office for a couple of days. We received NO complaints this month BUT did receive 2 letters of high commendation from customers which is always nice. We also did receive a letter from a lady saying she wanted us to collect all the Glass Brick stuff that she had left over from building her wall last september … i spent hours trawling thru all the paperwork only to find that it wasnt even our order that she was complaining about . she bought from her local DIY store …!!!  Bless.

Moustache now anyway as the phones have started ringing with end of day Glass Block enquiries.

We are still working on the final stages of the Instant On-Line chat system and will be re-wording the Glass blocks website .( www.glassblocksuk.com ) this month too. just to make it easier to read… also looking at putting a Glass Block gallery on there for myself and customers to upload pictures onto of the completed jobs .

May & June have been exceptional months hre for us in the glass block world. We have updated our site a little ( www.glassblocksuk.com & www.theglassblockshop.co.uk) just to be a little more streamlined. We also added the 2 new links on the front page of the glassblocks website to DIY SOS & Grand Designs TV programmes as we have been featured on those alot recently.

We again had a great amount of glass block sales these months with us selling to over 120 different customers and having only 1 complaint and that was my fault as i forgot to send a refund out for a cancelled Glass brick order … DOHHHHH !

This last 2 months have again been good months for us here at the Glass Block shop, sales continue to come in whilst we look after all our customers both old and new. April Glass Block time is always a good time due to the Easter break, many people do DIY this time of year and with Glass Blocks & Glass Bricks being high on the fashion & design list at the minute they are being used an awful lot. We have been thinkin too about things to improve our Glass Block Shop website, we have decided now to add a new design feature allowing people to contact us at any time up to midnight thru an MSN type messenger service .. A real time chat any time day or night . This way it will give us the edge on our competitors due to being contactable anytime to ask questions about orders, sales, deliveries or just general Glass Block questions. April also saw our TV programme on air. we supplied 100s of glass blocks for a job on GRAND DESIGNS on BBC2, it got really good coverage and we have received some good feedback from it .

These past three months have been busier than ever , We have had a litlle extra competition on the web but seem to be coming thru quite strong still . We are after all, the ” ORIGINAL ” glass block supplier . Our prices are cheaper, our choice is greater and our delivery is faster than the rest of the online sales companies. We have been trading now for 6 years and on line for 4 years . no one is close to that . if there is anyone that you need to visit, let it be us .

Hi, November has been a very good month for glass blocks . we find that generally November proves to be the busiest month of the year . In the last 5 years of having the glass block shop every November has been the best month of the year apart from a couple of freak orders that come in thru odd months here and there . sale for sale its the best .. this month we have had 65 orders in 22 working days , thats an average of 2.96 orders pere day. 3 Orders up on Nov 05 and 17 down on NOV 04 but the order value was more this year than NOV 04. We made 1 refund thru blocks being delivered and arriving broken and had no complaints this month . We received a record number of emails this month averaging at 62 per working day. We had our best month for ” On - Line ” sales too this month with 22 of the 65 being done over the internet on the website. All in all very happy with everything and thanks for reading .. In October 2006 we delivered to 59 different customers throughout the country in 22 working days . That works out at 2.68 orders per day . We were 6 orders up Oct 2005, 2 up on Oct 2004 and 14 up on Oct 2003.

We had 1 delivery enquiry where a customer wasnt in to accept delivery . No refunds and 2 repeat orders from other months. Our order to arrival time averaged at 3.24 days per order
